Western Colorado AIDS Project

Description:
Founded in 1989 the Western Colorado AIDS Project (WestCAP) has been responding to the needs of people who have HIV/AIDS, and people at risk for HIV infection, with core and support services for care and prevention across the twenty-two counties of western Colorado. Our Ryan White case management services assist those living with HIV/AIDS in accessing medical, dental and mental health/substance use couseling services, housing, utitilites, transportation, medications, insurance, food, and other related services based upon eligibility. Proof of HIV positive status and residency within our service region are required, as is being at or below 400% of federal poverty level. We offer rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing on site and through outreach. Our prevention programs are tailored for gay and bisexual rural men, people who inject drugs, and people who already have HIV. WestCAP collaborates and partners with many other service providers across our service region to get people with HIV/AIDS into, and retained in, care and treatment. As of October 1, 2011, WestCAP is part of the statewide Colorado Colorado AIDS Project along with the Northern, Southern and Denver Colorado AIDS Projects.
